Jason Howell driving the #44 won the SST season opener at Cowtown Speedway Saturday night. Howell, who started in the 11th spot, moved through the field quickly until he encountered Corey Minor in the #8 car. He and Minor raced side by side for several laps until Howell finally pulled ahead. Jerry Hammock in car #4 started in the 12th spot and worked his way into second moving Minor to a third place finish. Thirty one sprinters made the trip to Cowtown for a strong showing for the first show of the season. The next SST event is scheduled for Saturday April 9 at Kennedale Speedway Park.
