Jason Howell driving the #44 sprinter won the Memorial Day SST Feature at Heart O’ Texas Speedway Sunday night. Howell started in the 11th position and put on a great show as he and David Garland in #84 and Jimmy Allard in #43 fought for the lead. It looked like Allard had the race in hand until a couple of cautions closed up the field. Then is was anybody’s race as Garland slipped by, Then Howell worked his way to the lead. Garland ended up in second with Allard hanging on to third. The next SST event is scheduled for Saturday June 4th at Cowtown.

Here’s the latest info from Smiley on the upcoming Memorial weekend event Sunday at Heart O’ Texas. Driver’s meeting is planned for 5:30 PM. Hot laps will start at 6 PM. Racing starts at 7 PM. Pit gates open all day so you can come early.
Henderson Wins at Devil’s Bowl
Rodney “Bones” Henderson won the first ever SST main event held at the historic Devil’s Bowl Speedway Saturday night. He started in the 11th spot and made quick progress into second position behind the early leader Jon Freeman in car #2. He made the pass for the lead on lap eleven. Hot on his heels was the #1 car of future Sprint Car Hall of Famer, Johnny Suggs who finished second. Danny Merrell in #41 rounded out the podium in third. The next SST event is scheduled for Sunday May 29th at Heart O’ Texas in Waco.
