Hammock in 1st

Jerry Hammock driving the #01 Outlaw Driving School sponsored sprinter won the SST A-Main event at 85 Speedway Saturday night. He only lead one lap, but it was the lap that counted. After a couple of restarts as the result of early race flips, it looked like James Reed in #93 would be the man to beat. Reed took advantage of his pole starting position to lead the first 12 laps. As he encountered lapped traffic, Jason Howell in #44 slipped by to take the lead. Hammock passed Reed two laps later and began to close the gap on Howell. Coming out of turn four on the final lap Howell was a sure bet to take the win. As luck would have it at just that moment, Howell’s car twitched toward the front stretch wall and that was all Hammock needed to charge past for the checkered flag.
