Russell Shoulders driving the #29 sprinter won the SST A-Main event Saturday night at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway. Shoulders, chasing race leader Johnny Suggs in car #1, was in position to take advantage of a very minor slip by Suggs in turn one to charge into the top spot on lap 12. Despite a late race caution which bunched the field, Shoulders held on to the position denying Suggs and a hard charging Jerry Hammock in car #01 from their bid for the win. Suggs had to settle for second with Hammock finishing third.

The next SST scheduled event is Saturday May 19 at 85 Speedway in Ennis.

Kurt Summers driving the Hooters sponsored #9 won the SST A-Main event Saturday night at Abilene Speedway. Summers expertly worked his way through lapped traffic in front of a packed grandstand to hold off the charge of Danny Merrel in #41 and Jason Howell in #44 who finished in second and third respectively. Summers is the third different feature winner in as many events this season. The next scheduled race is slated for the Devil’s Bowl on May 5th.

Kerry Rush driving the #91 won the SST A-Main event Saturday night at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway. Rush won his heat race which put him on the pole for the feature. He jumped to the lead at the drop of green flag and was never seriously challenged for the entire 15 lap race. This was the first SST feature win for Rush. Moving up from his 8th starting spot, Rodney Henderson driving the #67 had to settle for second. Ryan Beechler, taking advantage of his seat for the night, in the #77 started in the third row and finished in the third spot.

The next SST scheduled event will be Saturday April 21st at Abilene Speedway.

Chris Thode driving the #42 won the SST A-Main event at Boyd Raceway Friday night. Thode started from the sixth spot in the inverted field of 21 sprinters right behind the early leader Mike George in #20. A late race caution as the result of George’s spin in turn three brought Thode to the lead. He was being chased to the finish by Russell Shoulders in #29 who finished second and Mike Herring in #99 who came from the tenth spot to finish third. The next scheduled SST event is Saturday April 7th at the Devil’s Bowl.
